Lia McIntosh is the pastor of Meadowbrook.  She grew up in the St. Louis area, and has lived in the Kansas City area since 1998.  She earned bachelors and masters degrees in business from the University of Missouri and will graduate with her Masters of Divinity Degree from Saint Paul School of Theology in May 2010.

Her mission is to empower, inspire and lead people to an active faith in Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching and serving at Meadowbrook and the surrounding community.  She envisions a church of diverse people who passionately worship God and expect God to radically transform hearts and lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Church history

On April 8, 1961, fourteen people met together at the Meadowbrook School in Gladstone, Missouri to form a neighborhood church.  In June of that same year, Rev. Dale Lockart became the first Pastor.  Membership quickly increased to ninety-seven, and on September 24, 1961, all became charter members when the church was officially organized by Bishop Eugene Frank.

Earlier that year, the Methodist Board of Missions and Church Extension had located a tract of three and one-half acres for the church site, at 2800 Northeast 64th Street in Gladstone.  Ground breaking ceremonies were in October, 1962, and the first service was held in the new building on August 4, 1963.

Twenty-six years after the first fourteen people met, a growing congregation voted to build a large sanctuary and meeting hall as an addition to the original structure.  This addition was consecrated on February 28, 1988 and dedicated on January 26, 2003.  Today we are remodeling, updating and making our space comfortable for children and familes of all ages!
